In this data base all by us known sightings of rare birds are listed. All sightings are included, and sightings (birds) are all numbered in chronological order.

We have tried to give one number
for each bird which means that a bird in the same place in two different
days often is presumed to be one and the same bird. In some cases
(mostly larger birds) we have given a bird the same number even
if the observations are made on different islands (if dates, plumage,
and presumed migratory/flight direction fits). This is to avoid
any double counts.
For a number of records (especially older ones)
the exact dates may be missing. Dates are then given with zeros
in decades, years, or months. More information about this is often
given in the full reference version (No date = 1900-00-00, before
1903 = 1902-00-00, February 1968 = 1968-02-00) et cetera.
